Country of Origin: India, Yemen, Oman, Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya. Family: Burseraceae. Description: Use of this famous incense dates back to earliest written history. In the Bible it's one of the ingredients in the holy incense mixture given to Moses and also one of the gifts from the Magi to Jesus. Frankincense has been the most important ingredient of incense used during religious ceremonies all over the world. This fragrant desert resin has been prized by many cultures. It's also highly prized in Ayurvedic medicine.
